During the event, Vice-chancellor Joseph Sung also announced that the University would launch the "CU50 • Care" programme in 2013. He said that the programme was significant, especially at the time of the University’s Golden Jubilee. With grateful and joyous hearts, members of the CUHK community would serve Hong Kong by sharing their achievements with the public. All the attendees showed their support for the programme by waving their heart-shaped cards and balloons. CUHK will celebrate its Golden Jubilee with a series of jubilant events in 2013.

50th Anniversary Theme & Logo

The theme for the 50th anniversary celebration is "Embrace our Culture • Empower our Future". While looking back at the achievements of the University’s founders and successive generations of its teachers, the University is also focusing with renewed vigour and energy on future development. The 50th anniversary logo has been designed by renowned designer Stanley Wong. The inspiration behind is the phoenix in the University emblem, using the ornate crown as the number "5" and the curved horn as the number "0". The colour scheme is CUHK’s corporate purple and gold. The logo demonstrates the mission of the University: To combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West. Colleagues can click here to download the anniversary logo.
