"CHINA UNEARTHED: Soaring Phoenix Rising Dragon" Exhibition

Date:
25 October - 21 March 2014
Time:
10:00am - 5:00pm
Venue:
Gallery IV, Art Museum East Wing, CUHK

The feng bird, also known as the Chinese phoenix, was chosen as our school emblem to represent the University’s dedication to promoting Chinese culture. There are many classical, historical and mythological studies on the phoenix, but none have yet to identify its origin. This exhibition takes you through an ancient world unearthed by archaeologists, retracing the story of a mysterious bird that appeared more than 8,000 years ago.
